Tüke Busz launches new route planning app

Travel planning in Pécs’ public transportation system is set to become simpler and faster with the launch of Tüke Busz Zrt.’s new route planning mobile app, TükeBuszON+. Developed by HC Linear Műszaki Fejlesztő Kft., a significant player in the IT solutions market in Hungary, the app operates based on Tüke Busz Zrt.’s official schedule database. This ensures it provides accurate and up-to-date travel information, reflecting the current Pécs schedules – according to the service provider responsible for Pécs’ public transport.

Available for download from the Google Play and Apple Store, the travel planning app can display precise, real-time schedule and vehicle movement data. It provides information on the current positions of Tüke Busz routes and updates on bus arrivals at stops, including any deviations from the schedule, as stated in the transport company’s announcement. In addition to the route planning feature, users can access traffic news related to public transport, and initiate ticket and pass purchases through the app via the National Mobile Payment Co. or the MÁV JÉ system.

The TükeBuszON+ app offers additional helpful features for Pécs public transport users: besides displaying traffic news, it includes a route and stop search with a map, a map view showing the current position of vehicles, and a travel planner to aid in planning bus journeys in Pécs.

An active internet connection is required for installing the app, downloading the current schedule database, displaying traffic news, viewing real-time data, and route planning. However, the map view with stops, and the overview of routes and journeys, can be accessed offline. The app is available in Hungarian, German, and English, and upon the first launch, a straightforward legend is displayed to help users easily understand the meaning of icons used in the app.
